THE MMH 2024 SURPASSES THE PREVIOUS MEETING’S FIGURES FOR EXHIBITION AREA AND NUMBER OF COMPANIES

The Mining and Minerals Hall has exceeded 5,000 square metres and the number of stands at the 2022 meeting, with six months to go until the event

Seville, 5 April 2024.- With six months to go until the event, the Mining and Minerals Hall 2024 (MMH 2024) has surpassed both the exhibition area and the number of participating companies relative to the previous exhibition, which was held in 2022. This year’s meeting will take place from 15 to 17 October at the Seville Conference and Exhibition Centre (FIBES).

Specifically, the Mining and Minerals Hall 2024 has now exceeded 5,000 square metres of exhibition area, comfortably ahead of the 4,464 square metres occupied in 2022 and representing an increase of 12% to date. Additionally, 172 stands have been confirmed, one more than the number of stands two years ago at this key event, which is one of the most important events for mining in Europe. The MMH 2024 is jointly organised by the Association of Research, Extraction, Mining-Metallurgical, Auxiliary and Service Companies (AMINER) and FIBES.

In fact, the latest figures indicate that the MMH 2024 has surpassed the MMH 2022 in every metric: the number of 16 square metre stands is already 12% higher than the figure in the previous exhibition, as is the ratio of square metres per exhibitor, which has risen from 26.1 to 29.1.

The event currently has more than twenty sponsors, including leading companies such as Atalaya Mining, Asea Brown Boveri (ABB), Alto Minerals, Atlantic Copper, Cobre Las Cruces, Insersa, Iberian Sustainable Mining Cluster (ISMC), Maxam, Metso, Minas de Alquife, Minera Los Frailes, Orica, Pan Global Resources, Sandfire Matsa, Shell, Técnicas Reunidas, Tharsis Mining, Epiroc, Savilcon Group, Somincor Lundin Mining and the Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros de Minas del Sur professional association.

The theme of this year’s Mining and Minerals Hall, whose Chair is Enrique Delgado, the General Manager of Atalaya Riotinto, is ‘MMH 2024: Meeting point towards a sustainable future’. This is one of the sector’s most important international meetings in Europe, and its goal is to showcase the latest news and trends in mining, with a special focus on advances in technology, innovation and sustainability.

In parallel to the exhibition spaces, the MMH will hold a scientific programme involving experts and industry professionals to discuss the major upcoming challenges in the field of mineral raw materials. The Scientific Committee, chaired by the Director of Strategy and the International Division of Atlantic Copper, Carlos Rich, is now accepting proposals for papers and posters, with a submission deadline of 10 May. The proposal submission form can be downloaded at this link.

The 2024 meeting will also include a large area dedicated to informing society in general about the importance of this industry, its benefits for the environments where mining companies operate and the key role of minerals in the advancement of technology and sustainable energies. A programme of side events aimed at schoolchildren, students and the general public will help to raise awareness of the social value of mining and its importance in many aspects of our daily lives.
