Seville, 19 February 2019. – José Luis del Valle, chairman of the Management Board of SOCIMI Lar España Real Estate and the Management Board of WiZink Bank, will be the new president of Mining and Minerals Hall’s (MMH) Scientific Committee. This incorporation into the international mining hall, which will take place from 15 to 17 October 2019 at Seville Conference and Exhibition Centre (FIBES), will strengthen the technical conference activities, by being led by recognised experts in the fields of mining and business. In this line, the new president of the Scientific Committee will work closely with Rafael Pérez-Quevedo, mining engineer from the Technical University of Madrid and a professional with extensive experience in environmental issues affecting the industry, and general coordinator of said committee. Both of them, along with the other members, are in charge of giving shape to a scientific forum at the highest level, for the quality of the programmed activities as well as for the outstanding participants.

With this objective in mind, the members of MMH’s Scientific Committee have met in order to develop the main theme areas to be dealt with during the event in October. Under the general heading ‘Technological Trends in Mining’, this edition of MMH’s scientific conference will focus on four broad areas: reconstruction of environmental liabilities, underground mining, metallurgical mining and exploration.

As Javier Targhetta, Mining and Minerals Hall (MMH) Commissioner has stated, “the incorporation of José Luis del Valle, a nationally and internationally recognised professional, is the icing on the cake of a committee which counts on outstanding experts who are already working on designing an appealing, rigorous technical conference.”

MMH Scientific Conference is one of the key pillars of a sectoral meeting which gathers hundreds of companies and attendants and thousands of visitors from all over the world together for three days. MMH last edition, held in 2017, generated a direct economic impact of 4 million euros in Seville. Business networking is the other essential part of the event, which features a large exhibition area in FIBES. For that matter, the organisation has a commercial dossier at the disposal of the companies interested in participating in the event aiming at meeting the different business needs.
